Africa Contact with Europe: Exploration/Invasion and the Transatlantic Slave Trade

In the second half of the 15th century, Africa came into contact with Europe. First the Portuguese, then the Dutch, and later on the British and the French. As European capitalism was expanding internationally, it will lead to the most atrocious human practice, the transatlantic slave trade, destroying significant parts of Africa.

Join our Political Education series as we dive back into African History by looking at the effect of the Transatlantic slave trade on African societies and its benefits for global European capitalism.
